About Us

Our Mission

Our mission is to support individuals who have undergone mastectomy surgery by providing free post-mastectomy products, treatment essentials, and survivorship consultation services. Our non-profit is dedicated to ensuring that those who may not have the means to pay for these products and services have access to the resources they need to recover and thrive.

Our Vision

Our mission is to support individuals who have undergone mastectomy surgery by providing free post-mastectomy products, treatment essentials, and survivorship consultation services. Our non-profit is dedicated to ensuring that those who may not have the means to pay for these products and services have access to the resources they need to recover and thrive.

Our History

Survivor Friendly Foundation is a non-profit organization. We strive to provide cancer survivors with essential items such as prostheses, wigs, and other management tools for side effects such as lymphedema, worry-related issues, sexual function, and future outlooks. Unfortunately, insurance doesn’t cover many of these items, as they are considered cosmetic, despite being necessary for cancer patients to replace what they have lost. This lack of financial support, combined with a lack of mastectomy shops in close proximity and no insurance coverage, makes it impossible for many cancer survivors to obtain these essential items.

That’s why we are committed to providing these items for free to those who need them. We believe that all cancer survivors should have access to the tools and resources they need to thrive and live their best lives. We want to ensure that no one has to go without the essential items they need to manage their recovery and improve their quality of life. In addition to providing physical resources, we also promote breast health education and encourage self-checks. We believe early detection is crucial for improving outcomes and saving lives.

Lastly, we provide free consultation services to help women make informed decisions about their treatment options, specifically with regards to reconstruction versus prosthesis. We believe that every woman should have access to all the information she needs before making such an important decision, and we are committed to helping them navigate this process.

Our founder, Jacqueline Cromity, is a cancer survivor herself, and she experienced firsthand the physical changes that can come with cancer treatment. She felt embarrassed to walk into a beauty shop with darkened toenails and didn’t want to disclose her medical condition to strangers. Her experiences inspired her to create an emblem that companies can display on their websites or places of business, signifying that they are aware of cancer symptoms and are Survivor Friendly.

At Survivor Friendly Foundation, we are committed to providing comprehensive support to cancer survivors, addressing their physical needs and emotional and mental well-being. We believe everyone deserves access to the resources and support they need to thrive, and we are dedicated to making a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by cancer.

Survivor Friendly Foundation 501c3 vs the Survivor Friendly  (for Profit DME)

At Survivor Friendly Foundation 501c3, we understand the importance of financial transparency. We want our donors to know that the financial bookkeeping of our nonprofit is kept by two separate CPAs. This ensures that our funds are used responsibly and that our donors’ contributions are making a real difference in the lives of those we serve.

In addition to our nonprofit, we also have a for-profit company called Survivor Friendly DME. Owned by the same person as our nonprofit, Survivor Friendly DME offers post-mastectomy products and services through insurance coverage. Our nonprofit and for-profit work together to ensure that all individuals who have undergone mastectomy surgery have access to the products and services they need to support their recovery and long-term survivorship.

Your support of our nonprofit helps us to continue providing free resources to those who need them most. By donating to Survivor Friendly Foundation 501c3, you can help us make a real difference in the lives of individuals who have undergone mastectomy surgery. We appreciate your generosity and look forward to continuing our work together.
